Day 36!!!!!!!

The day was filled with heritage excitement when we took a trip to the Alaskan Native Heritage Center. We looked at exhibits and pictures. Watched them do Native dances and also saw them demonstrate the native games. It was so cute and everything was really cool. We learned quite a lot about the Natives here in Alaska. They really do use everything when they kill an animal. They respect the animals and feel that it is only fair if they do not waist anything. They use moose bladder to make containers to hold food and water. They use the moose antlers for the handles of drums and Buffalo skin for the head of it. Their symbols all mean something and so do the hand movements of there dances. They respect everything the five feathers they use in a lot of designs represent respect, Respecting the animals of the sea, the animals of the land, the food of the land, and Family. They have no trees where they live so they rely on Drift wood to build houses and boats. They give them a lot of credit for giving themselves up. So we learned a lot more but I am going to stop now, I am sure I am boring you enough already. That was all we did today. Tomorrow Mom leaves and it is our last night in the cabin, Tuesday we are back on the road.
