Days 43 & 44 & 45!!!

After 3 days on the water, we are finally back on dry land!!! We didn't know what to expect of our room on the ferry. We booked a 4 berth cabin and we were pretty much expecting the worst. I mean this wasn't going to be a luxury cruise and we knew that. We knew we had two sets of bunkbeds and pretty much were waiting on them to be wooden slabs held to the walls by some thin chains. And we expected our private bathroom to be the size of a cardboard box with a toilet which you also had to sit on to take a shower. We boarded the ferry at about 6pm on Sunday and went to the cabin deck to check in and get our keys and all the while still expecting a prison cell of a room. Boy were we wrong in all aspects!! Thank goodness!! The room was really big (boat standards anyway) with 2 large windows looking out over the bow of the ship. We had 2 sets of METAL bunkbeds that were really nice to sleep in And the bathroom was bigger than in a nice sized motor home. AND we had a table with 4 chairs. We all let out a loud sigh of relief. We were going to be all right!! We were going to be all right!!

The ferry also had a TV lounge where they showed movies a couple of times a day, a cafeteria, a bar and also other lounge areas. It was all really relaxing. We saw quite a few humpbacks and loads and loads of beautiful scenery passed us by. The water was calm the entire route and the weather cooperated as well. And needless to say, I didn't have to drive which it made it all the more sweeter!!

We had to make about 5 or so stops in other ports along the way, so we were able to see A LOT of the inside passage. It is definitely some place I would love to explore further, but unfortunatly not on this trip.

We docked in Prince Rupert, British Columbia, Canada (yeah, we are back in Canada again) at around 2:30 pm and as soon as we got through customs, we headed east a couple of hundred miles to the town of Smithers. Tomorrow we continue heading east towards Calgary, Alberta. But first we will be going to the Canadian Rockies and the national parks of Jasper and Banff!!

The beautiful waterfall next to the glacier. To see how big it is look at the 2 people at the bottom right of the falls.
