Day 12!!!
Today was spectacular! We left our beautiful resort room behind and boarded the ferry to cross the Puget Sound to downtown Seattle. It started out to be cloudy morning, but turned sunny and perfect. We arrived at the pier and headed through downtown straight for the Space Needle where we had a birds-eye view of the entire city. AMAZING!! After we left the Needle, we went back to the historic section of downtown to Pioneer Square and had a wonderful lunch while people-watching out of the window. We decided that since the weather was so good that we would go ahead and head on to the San Juan Islands. So we headed north to the town on Anacortes to hop the ferry to the port town of Friday Harbor on San Juan Island. The ride over took about an hour and a half. The entire ride's scenery was just so pretty it is hard to describe. We found a beautiful little hotel and checked in for the evening. The owner, Beth, is so sweet and helpful and informed us of everything there is to do on the island. It was so much we decided to go ahead and book a second night.
